As Peptide Demand Surges, FDA Calls for Greater Manufacturing Oversight

The agency warns that many peptide products being marketed for weight loss, metabolic health, anti-aging, and performance optimization are not FDA-approved and may vary significantly in quality, purity, and dosing accuracy. A key area of concern is the increasing use of GLP-1–related compounds such as semaglutide and tirzepatide in compounded or non-standardized formulations.
